How we use cookies and similar technologies across WUHLD

Last updated: 24 October 2025

About Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit our website. Under UK and EU law, the term "cookies" also includes similar technologies like browser local storage, session storage, and other client-side data storage mechanisms. These technologies allow us to recognize your device and remember certain information about your visit, such as your preferences and authentication status.

How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and browser storage technologies for several purposes:

These are essential for the website to function and cannot be disabled:

  • Authentication Cookies (Supabase): HTTP cookies that verify your login status and maintain your session (sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token)
  • Consent Preference Storage (LocalStorage): Stores your cookie consent choices so we can respect your preferences (wuhld_consent)

These help us understand how visitors interact with our platform, allowing us to improve the user experience. We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not collect personally identifiable information. You can manage your analytics preferences using the cookie banner or in your account settings.

Your Choices

When you first visit WUHLD, you will see a cookie banner that allows you to choose which cookies to accept. You have three options:

  • Accept All: Allow all cookies including analytics
  • Reject All: Only strictly necessary cookies will be used
  • Customize: Choose individual cookie preferences

You can change your preferences at any time by visiting your account settings (for logged-in users) or clearing your browser's local storage.

Managing Preferences

You have full control over your cookie preferences:

  • Use the cookie banner when you first visit (appears at the bottom of the page)
  • Visit your Profile Settings (logged-in users) to update preferences anytime

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies and local storage:

  • Delete cookies and local storage from your device
  • Block all cookies (though this will prevent you from logging in)
  • Set your browser to notify you when cookies are set

Please note: If you block strictly necessary cookies or clear your browser's local storage, you will not be able to log in or use the will creation platform. Your cookie preferences will also be reset, and the cookie banner will appear again.

Our authentication and database provider. Sets strictly necessary cookies for login sessions. No consent required.
